Taking strong action to promote respectful relationships within the Logan community, four #R4Respect Youth Ambassadors will visit Beenleigh State High School this Friday 4th December to deliver interactive sessions to students from Years 7, 8 and 9.
Through three sessions, starting at 9 am and finishing at 1 pm, Youth Ambassadors will interact with students to spark their thinking on what respect means and what crosses the line into harm.
#R4Respect Youth ambassador, Jerome Faraimo said the Youth Ambassadors would also invite students to consider the questions #RU4Respect and what that means for them personally.
“We’ve planned the sessions to be interactive, encouraging and uplifting for them. We mainly want the students to have fun while learning about respect,” Jerome said.
“Young people need to know there are still people out there who take responsibility for treating others with respect.”
“It’s important that we get the word out about R4Respect for them to get involved and think more about respect. Together we can make a difference,” he added.
#R4Respect is YFS’ new domestic violence prevention and education strategy for young people aged 12 to 24 in Logan. Its main focus is to prevent violence before it occurs.
Next year Youth Ambassadors will also visit other local schools such as Marsden and Park Ridge State High Schools, as part of the #R4Respect’s strategy, which includes school based educational activities and community-wide awareness.
