Community Spirit Awards: Meet the Logan social enterprise turning trash into treasure
On Mornings with Rebecca Levingston, ABC | November 10 2020, 8:30am
Meet the social enterprise from Logan who are turning electronic trash into treasure, building laptops for local school students who need them most. And they’re creating jobs while they’re at it!
Since April 2020, Jesse, Crystal, Hunter and Ash have worked together out of Substation33 refurbishing desktop computers for Logan school students.
They have sourced, tested, refurbished, and loaded the computers, ready for families to collect for just $100. The students can be online for their schooling within minutes.
To date, Jesse, Crystal, Hunter and Ash have refurbished and packaged more than 800 computers.
They’ve been nominated for an ABC Radio Brisbane Community Spirit Award for their brilliant work in the local community.
