R4Respect has partnered with Griffith University to raise awareness around domestic violence in Logan and surrounds.
With these combined efforts, R4Respect Youth Ambassadors along with other guest speakers plan to encourage local residents to promote respectful relationships between young people in an event that will be held on Tuesday 27th October at Griffith University Logan Campus from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm.
A range of games and activities, live entertainment, and a sausage sizzle will also be part of the day. All funds raised during the event will be donated to My Friends Place, a refuge established by Griffith University students for women facing homelessness as a result of domestic violence.
R4Respect is an YFS initiative, which aims to counter the negative attitudes that underpin domestic violence and create community awareness that will foster attitudes, values and skills for respectful relationships among young people in Logan.
Thirteen #R4Respect Youth Ambassadors from a range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds are leading the strategy using digital mediums like apps, social media and community events to promote the campaign’s positive key messages.
